The Basics

Name : Fukumoto Sae (復本さえ), which, roughly translated, comes out to be 'The Origin of Recovery from Sharp Wits'. It's meant to be a mixture of a pun on her personality and her sphere. Much thanks goes to Z for helping me with her surname!

Position : Sailorstarhealer, Kinmoku senshi of Recovery! Also First year Student at Chuo Gakuen, in class 1-B, as well as currently working to support herself and her father as a maid, cleaning office buildings.

Appearance :

Hair- Black by birth, Sae bleaches her hair bright blonde, with her black roots constantly showing. It hangs long, to her middle back and it's thin, with little volume. Her bangs are wispy, and they tend to hang in her eyes. At work, Sae wears a white kerchief over her hair, with her bangs poking out, as well as two longer strands in front of her ears.

Eyes/Face- Dark brown, narrow and framed with long lashes, Sae's eyes would be her prettiest feature if they weren't so bored looking all the time. Her eyebrows are their natural black, that arch ever so slightly; Sae keeps them plucked and trimmed to ultimate perfection. She's never seen without makeup, either, eyeliner and eyeshadow and mascara -- the works, though it's nothing garish or overdone. Her face is oval, with a small nose, and average, cupid-bow shaped lips.

Build/Skin-Standing at the not so intimidating height of 4'10, Sae is itty bitty and has the build to prove it -- she has no breasts to speak of, she's skinny as a rail, and she can still easily fit into clothes made for kids half her age. Her posture is stiff, and Sae stands as though she's pushing everyone away, which she totally is. This girl projects attitude in her stance and in her walk.

Clothing-When not dressed in her school uniform, Sae goes for the casual -- jeans, t-shirts, and baggy sweaters, and she's not adverse to wearing skirts. Her style isn't tomboyish, but it's not overtly girly either. She reaches a casual medium between the two, and her clothes tend to range in more neutral tones, such as white, gray, black and brown. She has a few name brand items, these being mostly formal dresses for the various weddings and office parties she attends with her dad. At work, she wears a dark blue jumpsuit with her surname stitched over the right breast pocket.

Voice-Sae has a biting, rough, alto voice, that is very succinct and to the point. Her speech pattern is casual, though not completely tomboyish. She has a good voice for yelling and screaming, and when she gets agitated, it tends to rise a bit in pitch. The singer/actress Tsuchiya Anna has what I would consider to be the best rendition of Sae's voice.

Age/Birthday/Whatnot : Born May 10th, 1986, Sae is 16 years old and is a Taurus.

Mundane Life

Friends and Family :

  • Fukumoto Takafumi - Sae's father, aged 40, he's a generic businessman working in a downtown Tokyo office building. He's never been quite the same since his wife left, and he's definitely not interested in finding someone else. He throws himself into his work, and is only home on Sundays, which are his mandatory day off. He dislikes his job and life severely, and the only reason he hasn't done anything about it yet is because he's afraid of change.
  • Arisu Jones nee Fukumoto - Sae's mother, aged 39. She ran out on her husband and daughter when Sae was five years old, after having met a British soldier by the name of Edward during one of her nights out on the town. She currently lives in England, and has no contact with her ex-husband or daughter, and likes to pretend they don't exist. Will probably not be appearing in this film.

Usual Daily Routine : Waking up early enough to put on her makeup, clothing, and eat breakfast, Sae commutes to school by train, usually arriving at Chuo fifteen to twenty minutes before the bell rings. The bulk of her day is spent at school, where she tends to keep to herself, though there is a group of girls she spends time with, on the fringes. After school is over with (Sae isn't a part of any clubs, but she does her duty to help with the cleaning when it's her turn to do so), she returns home briefly to change into her work clothes and commute back into the city to start work at her job. She generally works until about 8PM, grabbing dinner on the way home, on the train. By this time, her dad is usually home and sitting on the couch watching television, so Sae retreats to her room to study and, on occasion, read or flip through fashion magazines until it's time for bed.

On the weekends, which she has off from both work and school, Sae can usually be found in the city doing her shopping, or at home in front of the TV with the recorded broadcasts of her dramas. She's not a total hermit, and if invited out by her classmates to go somewhere, she will, as long as it doesn't interfere with her school or part-time job; alot of her free time is spent by herself, studying, because if she doesn't make the grades, she loses her permission to work, and if she loses that, then she can't go to school.

Background : Born to Arisu and Takafumi Fukumoto, Sae was born early on a Spring day in the mid 1980s, to a proud father and a not so proud mother. Arisu wasn't really happy with her marriage. She'd tried to get a divorce from Takafumi before having a child, but he wouldn't hear of it -- mostly because he pretended he didn't notice her subtle hints. When Arisu found herself pregnant, she carried the child to term only because she thought that maybe it would help change her mind.

It didn't. For five years, she grew apart from her husband, rarely staying home and always out to the clubs. Takafumi, for his part, pretended like everything was perfectly normal, and kept working and providing for the family. Little Sae, on the other hand, grew up mostly by herself at home. She did, of course, have friends at school, but she wasn't exactly a favored child among her peers' mothers. After all, it was common knowledge that her mother was stepping out on her husband, so to speak.

She met Edward Jones during one of her nightly visits to the clubs in Kabuki-cho, and she fell instantly in love with him. It took her two months to get everything prepared to leave for England with him, and when she did, it was in the middle of the night. Sae and Takafumi woke up to all of her things gone, and a note on the table reading simply 'I didn't love you'.

To say Takafumi was distraught would be an understatement, but he took it like he usually took things, pretending that everything was totally fine. Sae, on the other hand, began to learn that everything was not alright as she grew. The pitying looks from her friends' mothers were the first clue. Her father was emotionally distant, preferring to spend his time on the couch watching television than do anything but work, her mother was gone, and her friends were only her friends because they pitied her.

So Sae began to accept this part of her life. When she made it to Junior High, she started keeping everyone at arm's length. It was easier, that way. Her classmates could pity her, and she wouldn't have to deal with it. She coasted through school with average grades. Sae never wanted to really stick out more than she did, but when it came time for High School, she was faced with a dillema -- drop out, and really be a sore thumb, or get a job and help her father pay for her tuition. She chose the more responsible route, and got her work permit as soon as they would allow, being hired by a maid company that specialized in the cleaning of office buildings.

She's just started her first year at Chuo Gakuen, and she knows that she'll have to get her permit renewed for the new school; she plans on doing it as soon as she finds out who she needs to go to. Her job is important to her, her schoolwork is important to her, and Sae says she's content with just having those two things. However, she can't help this niggling feeling that something is missing -- but as to what, only time will tell.

A Little More Specific

Quirks : Sae has a thing for boy bands and sappy dramas, though if she's called on it, she'll deny the boy bands right out and claim to only watch the dramas to roll her eyes and critique how unrealistic they are. Truth is, she likes the boy bands because they give the illusion of actually caring, without actually being a real person (to Sae), and the dramas because she likes human survival stories and cheesy romantic endings.

Yes, this means she was a fan of the Three Lights, like every other girl her age in Tokyo. Her favorite was Seiya.

She refers to her father as 'Tousan', and her mother as 'ano onna' or 'that woman'.

Darkest Secret : She actually misses her mother, and wishes she, her father and herself were one big happy family again.

Reactions to Sudden Hugs : If you are not Hanako, the reaction is to shove you away as violently as possible. If you ARE Hanako, the reaction is to suck it up and take it. In either case, Sae tends to bristle and stiffen as soon as she's touched without warning, and then the physical reaction, depending on who you are.

Virtues and Vices : Sae doesn't have anyone she would consider to be close friends, as she prefers not getting close to people if she can help it. Of course, the other Starlights and Kakyuu will be the exceptions to this rule, but in general, Sae keeps people at arm's length both physically and mentally. She doesn't like getting close to people, out of fear that they might leave.

However, for all her pushing away, Sae is incredibly loyal to those she does consider to be her close friends, which, in time, will be the Kinmoku. She would die for not only Kakyuu (as that's a given), but for Maker, Seeker and Fighter as well, both in and out of senshi form.

Badassery

Power Sphere : Recovery

Asswhoopery : Simply put, Healer is the one that is there to give the others time to 'recover', as it were, on the battle field. In her fuku, she's rather good at throwing off attack after attack, as well as being a rather shiny target for the Monster of the Day to focus on, so the other Kinmoku can do their thing. Both in and out of fuku, Healer has a tendency to be a bodyguard for any of the Kinmoku, as it were, as well. Going into a little further detail, Healer is adept at being the one who can still stand when the others need to catch their breath. She, as both Sae and Healer, has above average stamina, enabling her to take attacks full force and still stand afterwards. There is a limit to how much she can take, of course, but it's higher than the average Kinmoku.

Greatest Weakness : Healer is not a fighter, plain and simple. She has no inherent knowledge of any kind of physical fighting skills (excluding Senshi-fu), and she needs to be told what to do when it comes to strategy. Sure, she can hold her own near the beginning of a fight, but if someone doesn't show up to help her out, she's pretty much doomed.

Attack (Star Sensitive Inferno) : Healer reaches into hammer space and pulls out her Star Yell, raising it to the air while it charges. She shouts 'Star Sensitive Inferno' as she lowers the Star Yell, spinning once, and then thrusts it out with both hands, a large ball of light/electrical-looking energy flying towards her target. Upon impact, the target is stunned not unlike when you've been tasered, and the effect is very brief, lasting only a few seconds. However, this is usually enough time for another senshi to whip out with one of their attacks and finish the monster off.

It's a big blob of energy, and as such, can be blocked by shields that block energy attacks, and it's rather visible, so it can be dodged. Healer can roughly use this attack multiple times during a henshin -- the exact number depends on just how powerful the initial Inferno that she lobs off is. For instance, a medium powered Inferno means she can probably get off four or five more, a weaker Inferno would round out to about six times per henshin, and an Inferno strong enough to knock out a youma would cap off at about three times per henshin.

Fuku : From the top! Resting on Healer's forehead is a circular gold tiara, not unlike those of her fellow Kinmoku senshi, with gold studs and a gold star in the center. Trailing down, around Healer's neck is a criss-crossed green choker, the same as the exile fuku, and it's also studded with gold studs. She has the basic Kinmoku halter top, in her signature color of spring green, and in the center of that top rests her brooch, which consists of a gold star, with an orange diamond on the bottom, and wings sprouting from the side. On her arms are a pair of puff sleeves, also in her signature color, and on her wrists are three more gold-studded green bands. Healer wears no gloves. Around her waist is the standard blossom skirt, but instead of a pair of poofy shorts underneath, Healer has a pair of boy-cut spandex shorts. Her shoes are the standard Kinmoku shoes, without the curly toes, and around her ankles are three more gold-studded green bands.

Connections

Kinmoku

Of course, Sae will interact with her Faction the most. The Kinmoku will be like her elder sisters, siblings and a family she never really had. Granted, this won't save them from her general abrasiveness, but in their case, it'll be all in good fun, like the little sister who pushes buttons because she can. In all likelihood, she's most likely to meet her fellow senshi in school.

Kakyuu- Oh, Princess. Healer is so devoted to you that it probably hurts a little bit, and in any form, Sae is quick to jump to the defense of her Princess, even if she may not really need it. Hanako will be the only person to get away with sudden hugs or pats on the back. There will probably be study dates, hang-out dates, or, really, anything. If Hanako wants Sae around, Sae will be there. If Hanako does not, Sae will be sad, but will not be there.

Fighter- Katsuko will be the big sister to Sae, and by this, I mean Sae will figure out how to push Katsuko's buttons in all the right places and annoy her to death. She does it out of LOVE, though, she SWEARS. She will appreciate Katsuko's blunt and honest nature, and is all for letting Fighter be the leader of the Kinmoku senshi, even if she doesn't really seem to act like it.

Maker-

Seeker- Celeste is a gaijin, and Sae will do her darnedest to try and not hold it against her, but may fail and say something rude every now and then. However, Celeste's powerful ability to be loyal and trustworthy will let Sae see her in a better light, and she'll receive the same amount of respect that Fighter and Maker do, and also some of the wheedling that Fighter gets.

Lunars

Most, if not all, of the Lunars will be in the category of people that Sae keeps at arm's length at all times. She doesn't get how they're so damn chipper and buddy buddy all the time, and she will, most likely, share Katsuko's sentiments that the Lunars all live in one big house together and have nightly slumber parties devoted to doing their nails and hair. Sae will, most likely, interact with the Lunars the most during school, and since she's in 1-B with most of the other senshi, she'll know them before her Awakening as well. Kyouri is adorable and will probably try to befriend Sae, who won't take it very well, as she tends to think that sort of thing is pity.

Terrans

Look, Kunzite, your guidance is appreciated, but we really don't care what you have to say. Sae is in the same class as Teaki, and any attempts to hit on her will be met with a resounding slap. As for the others.. probably battle? Unless it's a random encounter, of some sort.

Galactics

Whoa boy. Something deep inside Sae will tell her that you do NOT mess with the Galactics, no matter how pitying/annoying/awesome they are. The Galactics will command her respect in any form, and once Sae finds out that her home room teacher is Galaxia, Chikara should expect alot more paying attention coming from that corner of the classroom.

Elementals

Sae cleans office buildings for a living! They'll probably have to clean Jade Dragon Enterprises at one point or another, right? Although hopefully Sae won't be alone, because if she is, she'll die. Oops.
